December 24: Japan Expo and Matsuri in Sydney

  Japan Expo and Matsuri in Sydney was held again this year in Darling Harbour's Tumbalong Park. This year, Tourism Australia and Japan National Tourism Organization have hosted a range of events in various regions in both countries under the banner of the Australia-Japan Tourism Exchange Year. Now teaming up with the annual festival, “Matsuri in Sydney”, JAPAN EXPO became the biggest tourism promotion event held in Australia showcasing fascinating aspects of Japan to a large number of people.
  Kitanodai Gagaku Ensemble performed Saho-bugaku Ryo-o at the event, following the opening remarks and the greetings by Mr. Kobayashi on behalf of the Consulate-General of Japan in Sydney.

 


September 28: Cowra's Sakura Matsuri at Japanese Garden

  Cowra, located in New South Wales, Australia, has a deep relationship with Japan and has held Sakura Matsuri in September every year. Each year more and more people attended the festival.

  Kangen Keibairaku no kyu, Rinko kodatsu and Chogeishi were performed.
